Maazeno
It all begins with an idea.
This idyllic one-room house is perfect for a short break from city life or as a base from which to explore the Cilento National Park.
Ma’azzeno is Cilentano dialect for gun-storage, or a gunpowder magazine. Historically farms in the area will have relied on guns for hunting wild-boar and many still have out-houses where gunpowder would have been stored. Although hunting is now illegal under the laws of the National Park, occasional shotgun blasts can be heard throughout the winter.
This house is perfectly self-contained and ideal for any season. During colder months the fire-place can heat the whole room, while during the hot summers a lovely breeze blows down the valley. It has a spectacular view of the hills leading to the sea and is cosily secluded from the main house to ensure privacy.
